One can easily agree on the fact that our modern western culture doesn't endorse a genuine opening of our senses to subtle energies. It can also be said that our modern western culture doesn't even foster a genuine and full opening of our ordinary perceptions thru our physical senses, for that matter. These are all acts requiring a somehow slower time, a lingering, a "staying on and sinking in", as well as an opening up and expanding. These are acts that need their own time, in order to blossom, but most of our experiences are by now featuring a sort of shallowness and inconsistency, deeply rooted in both greed and rush. The main reason for this is that the amount of experiences available to be grabbed and literally devoured on the spot is so enormous, that it overruns quality almost completely, thus depriving almost anything we experience of its significance. In other words, everything must be consumed so fast, that we end up feeling almost nothing at all while we're at it. Which, in turn, generates a frantic, almost compulsive, continuous search for new experiences; but these experiences, because of the very rush and consequent lack of depth they're lived in, leave in most of us a perennial sense of dissatisfaction, and therefore we keep ceaselessly chasing and hunting for something more. Fast-food-like experiences to gobble on, and to get over with as quickly as possible, so that they hardly leave any trace in ourselves, but some dissatisfied memories, allowing us in turn to discard them, as if they were no more than "existential garbage". We get therefore cut off from any chance of a deep connection with both "Real Reality", and with the true nature of ourselves at once. The society of warrior ants, whose life and habits I was able to watch on TV a few days ago, bear some scary similarities to a fast spreading way of seeing and living life among humans of present days... | What Rising Moon Means | You are wild, crazy, and a huge rebel. You're always up to something. You have a ton of energy, and most people can't handle you. You're very intense. You definitely are a handful, and you're likely to get in trouble. But your kind of trouble is a lot of fun.
You tend to be pretty tightly wound. It's easy to get you excited... which can be a good or bad thing. You have a lot of enthusiasm, but it fades rather quickly. You don't stick with any one thing for very long. You have the drive to accomplish a lot in a short amount of time. Your biggest problem is making sure you finish the projects you start.
You are the total package - suave, sexy, smart, and strong. You have the whole world under your spell, and you can influence almost everyone you know. You don't always resist your urges to crush the weak. Just remember, they don't have as much going for them as you do.
You are very intuitive and wise. You understand the world better than most people. You also have a very active imagination. You often get carried away with your thoughts. You are prone to a little paranoia and jealousy. You sometimes go overboard in interpreting signals.
You are deeply philosophical and thoughtful. You tend to analyze every aspect of your life. You are intuitive, brilliant, and quite introverted. You value your time alone. Often times, you are grumpy with other people. You don't appreciate them trying to interfere in your affairs.
You are confident, self assured, and capable. You are not easily intimidated. You master any and all skills easily. You don't have to work hard for what you want. You make your life out to be exactly how you want it. And you'll knock down anyone who gets in your way!
You are well rounded, with a complete perspective on life. You are solid and dependable. You are loyal, and people can count on you. At times, you can be a bit too serious. You tend to put too much pressure on yourself. |

Been off this track for a while. Just busy, dealing with the seasonal riches of the land: picking sweet figs and plump late peaches, apples, almonds and hazelnuts. AND tomatoes galore (though much a smaller amount as compared to last year's). Processing, preserving, getting our panty ready for the winter season. Everything was kinda early, this year: even grapes are ripe already, and walnuts are coming on the scene pretty soon. Been having fun while working too, delighting myself with gourmet experimenting such as raspberry vinegar (the final brew looked and smelled as if it had come straight ut of Faeryland: an enchanted, purplish red-pink shade, very full!)... Ah, and what about the baking, then! We had fig and hazelnut muffins, and fig roll for quite a few breakfasts in a row... and figs and tomatoes laid in the glasshouse to dry under the already unreliable sun, with me ready to jump and take them in should it start raining! By now, my whole house smells like a Hobbit house, and it's likewise stocked with food, and I'm quite tired, catching back my time with you gang, after all this rain of blessings...
